Busy Weekend

On the weekend of June 26-27, 2010, I ran two races.

On Saturday I ran in the Derby Dash, a 5K race along the waterfront in Derby CT.

A great race, very flat course and a good race for beginners.

I did it for fun and ran comfortably under 24 minutes (results)

On Sunday, I ran in the Harwinton Road Race. It was supposed to be a 5K but they changed the course to make it 3.4 miles.

I again ran this at the last minute and just for fun - I started at the back of the pack. It has a REALLY tough hill at the one mile mark - (almost as bad as Gallows Lane!) but the rest is flat or slightly down hill. Even at 10 in the morning it was hot! Did not have a bad finish (Results), and another well run and fun race.

Litchfield Road Race

Yes - success!

I had two goals going into Litchfield - Finish under 1 hour and run all the way up Gallows Lane.

Well I did not make it all the way up the hill, but did finish under 1 hour.

Results

I was 499 but now I see I am 500 - oh well!

Goal for next year - take off 2 minutes and run up Gallows Lane - if at first you don't succeed...
